Descriptif :

Iris and the Giant est un jeu de cartes numériques créé par Louis Rigaud (auteur de l’application Oh l’appli de dessin magique) et le Studio Goblinz, avec en toile de fond l’histoire d’Iris, une jeune fille victime de harcèlement à l’école.
Lors d’une sortie à la piscine, Iris est submergée par sa peine causée par les moqueries de ses camarades. Elle plonge en elle-même et va se retrouver face à ses démons intérieurs. Armée de cartes et de volonté, Iris va alors combattre des monstres inspirés de la mythologie grecque, afin de remporter des étoiles lui permettant d’affirmer sa personnalité – et ce jusqu’à la rencontre finale avec le Géant qui sommeille en elle.
A chaque tableau, vous allez aider Iris à placer les bonnes cartes sur le plateau afin de faire progresser sa quête.
Le jeu se tient en anglais – avec des sous-titres en français. Pour les jeunes joueurs – Iris and the Giant est accessible à partir de 10 ans – cela oblige à entendre de l’anglais d’autant que la voix de Nathalie Hitzel qui double le personnage, est fort agréable.
Vous pourrez jouer dans le mode de votre choix : classique, facile pour les débutants et cauchemar pour les joueurs aguerris.
A la fin de l’expérience, Iris va rencontrer le géant, symbole de sa force intérieure.

Degré d’intérêt

Critique

Iris and the Giant nous offre une belle expérience de jeu de cartes stratégiques. Il combine un graphisme et une bande son de qualité tout en traitant de sujets délicats à aborder : le harcèlement scolaire et la dépression chez l’enfant.
Le gameplay s’avère très travaillé : entre le RPG (jeu de rôle) et le rogue-like (jeu dans lequel le joueur explore un donjon infesté de monstres qu’il doit combattre), il participe à nous immerger dans cette quête introspective au côté d’Iris.
Sachez qu’Iris est un jeu prenant et potentiellement long : il donne furieusement envie de réussir et d’arriver au terme de l’aventure ! Quand un tableau n’est pas réussi, il faut recommencer depuis le début mais en étant doté de nouvelles cartes.
