Degré d’intérêt

Critique

Cet album à embranchements narratifs est une belle réussite du point de vue du déroulé comme de l’illustration. La ferme des animaux d’Orwell respecte parfaitement l’œuvre originelle… tant et si bien que le joueur/lecteur a finalement peu d’influence sur la narration de fond qui correspond toujours à la vision de l’auteur.
C’est à la fois une qualité et un défaut. On aurait envie d’avoir plus de liberté et pouvoir changer le déroulé – si nos choix contrecarrent l’œuvre, l’histoire n’ira pas à son terme – mais on serait déçu de ne pas retrouver dans l’album numérique l’ambiance et les choix d’Orwell.
Ce jeu a une vertu incontestable : donner envie de lire ou relire le roman afin de pouvoir guider au mieux la ferme jusqu’au niveau final. La Ferme des animaux ainsi que les autres œuvres de Georges Orwell étant tombées dans le domaine public depuis le 1er janvier 2021, vous trouverez d’ailleurs des éditions numériques gratuites du roman, comme ici par exemple (PDF).
