A l’heure du déjeuner, quel mets contentera le crapaud affamé du marais ? On se le demande : car cette fine bouche bien trop goulue ne se suffira pas d’un petit insecte, non !
La gourmandise du crapaud
Convaincu par le moustique qu’il peut trouver nourriture bien plus adaptée à son grand appétit, il va se rendre chez la caille pour croquer ses œufs, puis chez les ouistitis pour goûter à leurs feuilles tendres. Pauvre crapaud, qui croira pouvoir déguster le plus beau des volatiles et qui apprendra à ses dépens qu’il ne faut pas être trop gourmand !
Voici une histoire aux allures de fable, avec un crapaud bien naïf, aveuglé par sa faim.
Un kamishibaï numérique
Il s’agit de l’adaptation numérique d’un album papier de Florence Jenner-Metz et Marie Dorléans paru aux éditions Callicéphale, existant également sous forme de Kamishibaï – un art du conte japonais : les histoires sont narrées par un conteur et présentées sous forme de grandes planches illustrées glissées dans un cadre de bois.
La version numérique de A l’heure du déjeuner s’inspire de l’esprit du Kamishibaï : l’histoire se déploie comme une grande planche visuelle déroulée progressivement à l’écran. C’est le procédé qu’avait emprunté Boum par exemple – sans aucun texte pour Boum – ou encore Qui fait bzzzz et plus tard Phallaina.
Surprises et fantaisie
Dans A l’heure du déjeuner, on est surpris. Parfois le glissement que l’on opère à l’écran fait changer le texte, parfois, c’est l’image qui évolue et emmène le crapaud un peu plus loin.
Les bruitages de la mare, les cris des oiseaux et animaux, les dessins épurés : l’ensemble est fort élégant ! Et puis cet album cache en réalité beaucoup de fantaisie : au delà de la folie douce du crapaud qui s’imagine tout de même croquer un crocodile, des dizaines de petits détails décalés se cachent dans les images.
Les enfants adoreront les chercher. Cet album de toutes façons se regarde forcément à deux pour s’étonner ensemble et s’amuser de ses effets ! Et ne le réserver aux tout-petits : s’il est accessible à de jeunes enfants, il sera idéal par exemple pour une découverte en groupe, avec des enfants déjà lecteurs.
