Le studio USTWO, créateur de Monument Valley, nous offre un voyage textuel, une narration ludique, une histoire presque classique et pourtant bien attachante. Cette appli, tout public, est accessible à des enfants lecteurs, à partir de 8/9 ans.
Les bris de la vie
Maria, une jeune femme restauratrice, nous raconte son passage dans la ville de Bellavira. Son métier – redonner vie aux vieux objets – la mène à rencontrer des personnages brisés, une petite fille malheureuse, un père égaré, des sœurs éloignées.
Chaque chapitre, qui se lit de haut en bas en faisant glisser le texte, mène à une réparation : la fin de page se termine par un jeu d’assemblage pour remettre en route un magnétophone, un téléphone à cadran, un appareil argentique, une console de jeu, une montre à aiguilles ou encore un projecteur à diapositives.
Des clins d’œil permanents à notre époque, dans laquelle ces objets anciens paraissent obsolètes. Les restaurer conduit pourtant les personnages à se souvenir, s’ouvrir, refaire du lien entre eux.
Telle une petite fée moderne, Maria intervient ainsi, avec notre aide, dans les parcours de vie.
Un récit à jouer
Assemble with care tient plus du récit que du jeu. C’est une histoire à expérimenter, pleine de charme désuet.
Portée par une ergonomie limpide, l’appli ne demande pas de réflexion complexe : les assemblages sont à la portée de tous et largement guidés. On fait glisser les outils à l’écran tandis que les éléments se posent et se retournent avec fluidité.
On ressent un vrai plaisir dans cette bricole numérique, lente et agréable, qui donne furieusement envie de réparer nos propres objets, naufragés du temps.
